Positive energy
I have to be honest, I really didn’t fancy my run this morning. I was tired, I’d been on an early shift all week, so had less sleep, my Fitbit was impressed with my many, many steps just from a normal day at work and as my oh so lovely (yet honest) hubby pointed out, I was just looking for excuses not to go!
However, I donned my Lycra and taking a deep breath got myself out there in the grey, drizzly morning. To say I was slow and sluggish is an understatement, I was about as peppy as a sloth. As I ran along through, I started to think about my week and in particular my unusual Friday night out.
I met up with an old friend, who I haven’t seen in around eight months. When I last saw her, life was pretty challenging and lets just say she was in a very different place. Well what a transformation! She came bursting through the turnstiles at the station, a bundle of energy!
A tea and a couple of hot chocolates later (I did say it was unusual for a Friday night) and she was filling me in on just how much has changed for the better. With a new job in London, new hairstyle, new clothes, she was looking seriously sassy! But the biggest transformation was how enthusiastic and excited she was about everything. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face – she just looked amazing with an inner glow that lit up the whole place. She is approaching fifty and I can honestly say I’ve never seen her look younger, or more in charge of who she is and what she wants out of life.
So what’s her secret? Apparently I introduced her to the concept of positive thinking and she has run with it! She has also read that brilliant book the I wholeheartedly recommend ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne and embraced the power of attraction big time.
Remembering this today gave me the spring in my step that I needed for a grey Sunday morning run and I would love to think it might just inspire you in your week ahead. So whatever is going on in your life right now think positive, surround yourself with positive people and imagine what you want to achieve, who knows it could happen sooner than you realise!
Have a lovely week
Stay Sassy
